Post by t2016 » Mon Aug 22, 2016 1:35 pm

Hi friends
I just need advice I am a bit confused. I m in the UK and I will apply flr m visa. I just need to learn can I apply with my 1 year valid passport and with my maiden name. Coz I don't have enough time to change my ID and passport. And I will state on my letter that i will change my surname and i will extend my passport after visa. Would it be okay ?
Thanks for help in advance :)

Changing your name wrote:Keep your current surname
When you get married you are not obliged to take your husbands name if you do not want to. Consequently if you intend to keep your current surname you do not need to contact anyone.
If it's not a requirement in your country to change your name after marriage, then you don't have to.

Problem is I will change my surname If I change my surname and get new passport my maiden surname will be on my new visa and biometric residence card. It's confusing... I don't have enough time to get new 5 years' passport. I need to apply with my 1 year valid passport I think. Thank you
