OCI card application - List of Documents

Dear all,

Soon I am going to apply for OCI card at my local VFS office .
I am wondering could someone let me know that following list of documents are suffice or not

Your input would be greatly appreciated

Online application form
Declaration form
Passport photos
UK passport
Surrender certificate
Naturalisation certificate
My father Indian passport xerox copy
My mother Indian passport xerox copy

Missing documents

my original birth certificate,
Domicile certificate
School leaving certificate and also don't have
any agricultural land documents

I am worried about the missing documents and I don't want to local visit VFS office and return back due to lack of documents.

I wish someone could share their personal experience and hopefully that would be greatly helpful to few.

If you have your Indian Passport surrender certificate, you don't need to show any other documents for "proof of Indian origin", such as original birth certificate, school leaving certificate. I have confirmed this with VFS and the High Commission.

Original birth certificate, school leaving certificate, etc are only useful when the applicant doesn't have the surrender certificate for some reason, e.g. got British citizenship a long time ago / lost Indian passport after getting British citizenship / etc.

Here's the check-list of documents I used for a successful application:

• Printed Application Form
• Printed & signed copy of the declaration form
• 2 photographs as per the photo specifications
• Foreign Passport Copy (photo page)
• Copy of Naturalisation Certificate + Original

Proof of Indian Origin

• Copy of Surrendered Indian Passport + Original
• Copy of Indian Passport Surrender Certificate + Original
