Spouse visa accommodation / English life skill test

Hi All,

I have two queries guys, I would really appreciate your help in answering these queries.

Could anyone please confirm whether a double size room in a shared house/flat is adequate and acceptable according to the immigration rules/criteria when applying for a spouse visa with no dependants or not? if not, what is the minimum accommodation criteria?

Also, could you please let me know once my spouse passes her English life skills test does it have a limit time to be used? has it got an expiry date?

It depends on how many occupants there are in the accommodation and how many rooms there are in total. For multiple occupancy you will need to submit a property inspection report. You will also have to submit a copy of your tenancy agreement and a letter from the landlord giving permission to live in the property.

English tests generally have an expiry date. Which test has your spouse taken )or intends to take)? Is it on the UKVI approved list of tests/test providers?

Do I still have to submit the inspection report if I rent a studio flat or one bedroom flat on my own and the landlord permission? or they are only required when sharing the accommodation?

Generally when the accommodation isn't sole occupancy. A studio or 1 bedroom flat should only need a letter from the landlord + tenancy agreement (which protects your rights too).

I am not an expert and i do not have inside knowledge of how they work but i believe they look at the floor space and that determines how many units ( people ) that can live in that space so if that is exceeded then its overcrowded.. a three bedroom house can expect about nine units ( people)
