Contracted TB whilst in the UK

Post by chbagan » Tue Aug 23, 2016 9:33 pm

Hello all,

Few unusual questions regarding my current scenario - hope someone in this forum can help me please? :D

I am currently on a Tier 2 Sponsored Visa in the UK. In April this year I contracted Tuberculosis  whilst in the UK and came back to India on May 04 2016 for treatment.

Counting today (August 21 2016) its been 3 months 18 days since I left the UK and have been in India for treatment. I have a few questions regarding my return and was wondering if anyone on this forum could help.

1. What is the maximum time period I can stay out of the UK on sick leave on a Tier 2 visa?
2. If I go back will the Border agency let me in without any issues or are there any rules around entering the UK after on sick leave or after contracting TB?
3. My current Tier 2 visa expires in December - is there a way this can be renewed in India itself if my company is willing to do do?
4. What are my rights if my company makes me redundant due to me being on sick leave for this long?

Thank you all for your help! :)

Are you on full pay, reduced pay or no pay?
