Refusal based on miscalculation of savings

Post by Duggsy69 » Thu Aug 25, 2016 12:20 am

Hi all, my wife was just refused due to us being deemed not to meet the £62,500 savings level. This was an error drawn from a very simplistic calculation method being applied. We had more than this over three accounts, and on one occasion I moved money from one account to another. The lowest figures were used, resulting in refusal. All these accounts were submitted, I also enclosed a letter describing the transfers.

Has anyone had experience for such a refusal? Is this something we could challenge with ECM? We refuse to enter the absurd appeal process and if necessary will reapply and take the hit, but obviously I want my wife back as soon as possible and want to avoid the need for a stressful reapplication.
