Spouse visa rejecting for taking IELTS Academic Exam

Hello,

Please help. After more that 3 months of waiting my wife spouse visa was rejecting for only ONE reason for taking the IELTS Academic Exam as a prove of English requirement.

She scored 5.5 on average which includes 6.5 in Speaking, 5.0 in Listening, 5.5 in Reading and above 5 in the rest.

We were told this Exam is no longer valid for spouse visa since April 2015 !!! (wish I could attach the letter). However that same exam is listed as valid on the British Council website.

A lots of Nigerians (possibly other nations) rely on this exam for spouse visa English requirement.

I am confused and will be appealing...

Check on Gov UK website, never mind what BC says.

Im worried after reading your post. The only english test I have is Academic Ielts. So its not avaiilable anymore for family permit visa?

A FP is not a Spouse visa.

new rules are coming out all the time about English lang.

New type of test is now needed for spouse visa for new applications.
New rules apply to new applications so you need to check the most current requirements.
Different types of applications need diffrent type of exams.
