Staying in UK on a Parent of Tier 4 child visa

Hello, I am new to the forum and really appreciate your help guys.

Question: if one lives in UK on "Parent of a Tier 4 child visa" and gets married while that visa is valid, what is the process of staying in the UK?

The gov website reads: as Parent of a Tier 4 child visa you can’t "switch into a different immigration category from a ‘Parent of a Tier 4 child visa’ when it expires"

But surely you should be able to stay in UK with your partner if he/she is British... Does anyone know how the process goes in this case?

Sorry, I am still a bit confused...
So you are saying that I will be applying through a normal process of staying in UK based on family ties regardless of Parent visa for student. So I should just ignore that statement about "changing immigration status". Correct?

Not sure how far it will take you but it seems a path you may be able to take.
