French Permenant residence and EEA national status

Post by heyitsme » Fri Aug 26, 2016 8:55 am

I am a UK citizen living and working in France for the last 3 years. I can apply for french Permanent residence as I also have a postgraduate degree from France. I am thinking this may be helpful to get access to EU due to brexit. My parents and Wife who are non-EU nationals have been granted a Carte de Sejour (residence card) on the basis of them being family members of EU citizen.

I am wondering that if I apply for French Permanent residence then will it affect the status of my family members? as they are currently in France as being family members (specially parents) of EU citizen so will there be any problem for their resident status if I become a permanent resident? or later if I get naturalized in France?

NB: My parents have recently been issued the French Residence card Carte de sejour

Am I correct in assuming that when you talk of "french Permanent Residence", you mean permanent residence under French domestic law and not under EU law (the French equivalent of ILR)?

I am not aware of French law, so not commenting on the question but clarifying the terms so as not to cause confusion among other readers.

BTW, how many people use this ID? Other very recent questions from this ID are about Tier 2 COS queries. You can't be both a British citizen with family in France and a Tier 2 holder in the UK.

Good point about the ID.
Heyitsme, how are you living & working in France where in your other posts you claim to be in the UK on a Tier 2 visa? :?:

I posted about tier 2 on behalf of my friend. Would this be any issue with the forum's policy?

Just make it clear who is who.
Is friend incapable of registering?

And imaginary friends with hypothetical situations do waste everyone's time.

Ok thanks for informing. I will tell the friend applying for Tier 2 to make a separate account.

If mods please don't mind can we now shift the attention to the question?
