FLR (M) EVIDENCE of CORRESPONDENCE DOCUMENTS

Post by yoonssoe » Tue Aug 30, 2016 3:00 pm

Hello everyone,

I'm applying for my first FLR (M) 5 year route this September.
Me and my husband nearly finished to fill the form and have few questions about the documents that we have to hand out.

1. What would be acceptable for 6 evidence of correspondence documents?
I just moved to my husband house last Feb and he owned / lived in the house more than 2 years so all bills and mortgage is under his name. We have 1 joint bank account which shows both mine & his name on bank statement with new address but that is all what we can present under both our names. If we have only 1 joint name of correspondence document how many separate (but same address) documents do we need to submit?
-I have my own bank statement / payslips / water bills to the new address.
-Husband can provide broadband bill / gas bill / Land registry / Mortgage statement
Is 1 joint name and 3 each of different sources but same address are enough or what else should we provide more to prove that now we are living together? Please advise me.

2. And second questions is that If we can't provide original passport of my husband due to business trip plans, can we send a copy of his? Some of then says only "A legally certified copy will be accepted." so want to double check is it has to be a legally certified copy?

It would be a great help if you can share your experience and your knowledge of this application.
Thank you all! x

Any formal correspondence is acceptable and if you don't have 6 joint you need 6 each addressed to you each individually. The only joint correspondence we had for our FLR last month was a letter from my son's secondary school.

Certified copy isn't necessary as there is no mention of it in the guidance. If you are doing a same day appointment I believe they need the actual passport.

Thank you for reply SoHopful!

Do you think a letter from our Abbey (the church we got married, and it's invoice), JohnLewis gift list letter would be acceptable too? Those are not like government letters but do you think we can count this as a formal correspondence too?

Thank you in advance!

*I'm applying by post.

Any correspondence with the date, name/or names & address will be accepted.
