Hello all,
I got my discretional leave to stay about a year ago (private live route i.e. 10 years route to indefinite leave to remain) Now my partner got his British passport. I want to change my visa to spouse visa which will be 5 years route to indefinite leave to remain. I spoke to my lawyer who informed me that I cannot change at the moment because my husband's salary is just about 800 pounds every month. he said because I am going to depend on my husband and we are unable to meet the financial requirement at the moment. But my salary is about 2000 pounds every months. I told my lawyer that there are 2 categories (category A and category B) I informed him that with category B, I don't need to depend on my husband salary. My lawyer insisted that I will have to depend on my husband because this is a new application to switch to spouse visa. I spoke to another lawyer who informed me that I can depend on my salary to meet the financial requirement. Can Anybody shed more light on this. I am just a bit confused. I don't want to spend lots of money on making application and then get refusal letter. Thank you
