Accommodation query

Post by fionaferguson » Mon Sep 12, 2016 7:31 pm

My soon to be husband will be applying for a spouse visa. We will be staying with my parents and brother. The deeds to the house are older so only state 3 bedrooms. However it now has 5 bedrooms. I am trying to get an independent property inspection report however no one does it around about me. I am worried that the ukba will query this because we can't get this report.

Is there anything else I can provide as evidence that they will use. I am also concerned that they will also question the sizes of rooms? Is there size restrictions and do they include living rooms. So 5 people is okay right?

An Estate Agent will generally provide a property inspection report for a fee.

The living room can be included.

By the way, the UKBA was disbanded in March 2013 due to being unfit for purpose and was superseded by the UKVI the following month, This means that any guidance under the UKBA banner may be outdated.

I have spoken with at least 5 estate agents/surveyors in the area and none of them will provide it.

Try one of those:
Company information removed by moderator - advertising or naming a company is not permitted on the forum.

They do cover most of the UK
Wish you the best of luck.

Sorry, didn't know mentioning company's name is prohibited, my apology.

If your parents occupy one bedroom and your brother another bedroom, then isn't three bedrooms already adequate?

Yes we found the plans today so will photocopy them and submit with everything. Would this rule out needing a property inspection report. I am not sure if it is always advisable to put this report in with the application?

Yes but I wasn't sure if the report was always needed or in this case used to back up why the deeds to the house indicate a 3 bedroom house and it's a 5 bedrooms. They have to be 50 metered squared - is the 7 feet x 7 feet wide?
