FLR(M) section 10.12 How long lived in the country?

Post by KumaYama » Tue Sep 13, 2016 12:29 pm

Hi Guys,

Thanks in advance for your help. I'm still filling in the flr(m) with my wife, who is Japanese (I'm British).

I'm stuck on question 10.13 'How long have you lived in the Uk?'

She initially arrived as a student in 2012 (August), but since completing her MA returned to Japan for around 9 months while applying for her PhD, she returned and has since been in the UK continuously (bar a 3 month period for data collection) until present.

My question is, should she put that she's lived in the UK since 2012 and explain the 9 month gap in the table below, or put that she arrived on the current visa in 2014?

Sorry, I have a bonus question (for ten points), related to this, in a previous section (6.8) it asks for all addresses within two years. When she came back she lived in London, briefly as an au pair, then on a friend's sofa, for almost a year, although her post was still coming to my address. Does she need to declare this? She wasn't added to any bills at any of the addresses (including mine).

Thank you! Your help is invaluable!

Joe
