Visa type to visit India Instead of OCI

Post by cvs » Tue Sep 13, 2016 8:16 pm

Hi,

My baby got the British Passport through MN1 and I surrender the India Passport. Both me & my wife are still Indians. Now I am planning to apply for Indian Visa for baby (atleast one month visa need) instead of OCI Card b'cas i need to go India Immediately but OCI will take longer, so i will apply for OCI when i return back to UK,

I confuse about rules, so which one my baby eligible
Do i need to apply the visa online(eVisa) or shall i apply with Regular Visa Application (Tourist Visa or Entry Visa) or else any-other options.

So please guide me What type of visa do I need to apply for my baby?

Thanks

I had the same issue, I ended up getting a normal tourist visa and it worked fine, wasn't too much of a hassle either. However the TVOA (Tourist Visa on Arrival - aka e-Visa) was not operational then. These days I'd try the TVOA route as its much cheaper but please note I have not tried it myself.

Thanks For help rmukherjee. I will try to find some information about TVOA, if i din't find then i will go for normal tourist visa. Once again Thank you.

As child is an ex-Indian citizen, he may be eligible for an X-visa. I believe (I could be wrong) that holders of X-visas have lighter restrictions when it comes to registering with the FRRO and other government bodies.

I don't think child need to register in India for Tourism Visa. Please correct me if i'm wrong, show that i can do my child registration with FRRO when i go to India with my Child.
