Hi,
I wonder if someone here had the same issue regarding getting the first adult passport.
I am originally from EU country, married to a British guy and recently got the naturalisation/British citizenship and wish to get the British passport too.
By the law of my origin country, my passport was automatically canceled after my wedding due to the status change from single to married. Since then I do not have any valid passport.
When applying for the first adult British passport they want me to send a CURRENT passport and with my new married name on it.
Well I do not have one. Will my application will be refused by the passport department or can I send any other document instead? F.E. marriage certificate? I can not find any answer to this, I have checked all supporting documents regarding applying but nowhere is mentioned what to do if I have no current passport.
To get a new passport from my country is really difficult, long and very expensive process so I am trying to find out if there is any chance I can get the British one without it.
Did anyone here applied for a British passport but did not show the origin country passport?
Many Thanks.
