Hospital fees for European citizen not living in europe.

Hi, hope someone can help on this.
My mother is visiting us in a few months, she is Spanish but she is not living in Spain right now. What I'm trying to know if while she is staying here (for about 3 months) and she needs a medical attention, something that cannot be handled by a GP will she entitled to pay the hospital fees in that case? I know if you are european you can have the medical card from your country but as this is not the case not sure how this will be.

As usual when travelling, get travel insurance. But known conditions unlikely to be covered. Bring credit card.
