Surinder Singh rule for parents

Guys, I am desperate to get my parents (78 and 66 years respectively and suffering from poor health)to live with me. I am a British citizen and they are Indians. I can not think of any other way but the Surinder Sing route. Off late , I have read that the route through Ireland is experiencing considerable delays.

Considering that, should I look into starting the whole process there, now
or
Look for another country to start the process. If so, any other recommendations like Malta or Italy or anything else?

DO you have any nuclear family (spouse and children) of your own? Remember that they will have to tag along with you on your SS journey (otherwise you could fail the center of life requirement) and you will want to factor in the effect of the move on your children's education and spouse's career, if any.
