UK Visitor Visa | Applying without leaving 6 months

Post by orange01 » Mon Sep 19, 2016 4:14 pm

Dear All,

I am looking for some advice here.

I am a British citizen (acquired citizenship in 2015), this year I invited my mother to stay with us for the first time. She was given 6 months visit visa from India. Her visa dates are 24th June to 23rd December. She came on 28th June and going back on 25th of this month. Basically she has used nearly three months of her visa.

My wife is pregnant and I want my mother to come back again in February next year for two months. I have read on this forum that one has to leave at least 6 months before applying for visit visa again. I am unsure if it is the case. Visa officer can see that when my mother was given the visit visa for 6 months, she only stayed for 3 months and returned back.

My concern is is it a definite to leave 6 months before applying for visit visa again?

Many thanks

As long as you can show strong ties to your mother's home country as a reason to return without overstaying, the application may be approved.

That's assuming the next stay won't mean that she will have spent more time in the UK in a 12 month period than she has spent in India.

Thanks Casa. I will ensure she provide enough documents to show strong ties with the home country (even more documents than last time :))
After all we only require her for 2 months so even if visa officer grant the visa from mid Feb to mid April, that will do good for us.

One word of advice. Avoid giving 'helping with child care' as a reason for the visit.
