'No benefits claim' confirmation letter by DWP?

Post by Romella » Mon Sep 19, 2016 4:21 pm

Hi,

wanting to find out if anyone was successful getting the British passport for their child (based on EEA )without a letter confirming they or their other half weren't claiming benefits during the five years.

Thanks

If I was you, I'd just get the letter - it's quick and easy to obtain so why cause an issue and delay the passport application.

See this, didn't take me long to obtain my letter (let's hope it's still that quick):

P.S. The letter is only required if you were exercising treaty rights as self-sufficient or as a student at any point during yoru 5 year QP. If you were working it's not required.
All information given is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
