Dear Members,
I employed one employee full time from 1 January 2015. My accountant generated FPS from March 2015. This means that I don't have FPS for Jan and Feb 2015. I spoke to my accountant and he said that the March 2015 FPS state that the employee joined me in Jan 2015.
Could you please advise what I should be doing?
Thanks very much
Imran

It makes no sense, did he start reporting RTI from March onwards ?? FPS reports can be readily generated by the software at any time

Thanks Zimba. He started reporting PFS from March 2015. The March 2015 FPS states that my employee started work on 1 Jan 2015. Can I rely on March 2015 FPS? Also Is it possible that I generate Jan and Feb 2015 FPS, when it was not actually reported by my accountant.

Dear Imran;
If no payment is made to your employee for the months of January and February, even then your accountant has to snd FPS (EPS is no payment is made).
Ask your accountant to provide you the copies of those EPS

Obviously you get FPS since you start reporting, if you paid nothing until March there is no FPS to be submitted. Are you paying quarterly ?

Thanks Zimba. I did paid tax for my employee for Jan 2015 and Feb 2015 (both paid at the end of Jan and Feb 2015). I understand my accountant did not submit the FPS reports in Jana and Feb and only commenced submitting reports in March and covered the Jana and Feb period by stating in the March FPS that the employee started employment in Jan 2015.
Now my new accountant is saying that we cannot go back and regenerate FPS for Jan and Feb if your old accountant never submitted the FPS reports for Jan and Feb. My new accountant is advising to reply on the March FPS which states that my employee started work on 1 Jan 2015. My worry is that UKVI only recognise FPS. Could you please advise what I should be doing?

There is nothing you can do. You must rely on March FPS as you had no RTI submissions for Jan and Feb. Given that your March FPS covers the starting dates and taxes paid, you should be fine.

Thanks Zimba. I have just seen the payslips of Jan and Feb 2015. I paid no income tax in Jan 2015 but paid £58 NI. In the month of Feb, I paid £350 income tax and £55 NI. My March FPS only refers to tax paid in March 2015 and does not refer to any previous payments of Jan and Feb. The March FPS only refers to a heading "Starters" in which it states that my employee started on 1 Jan 2015.
Do you still think that I can rely on March 2015 FPS?

How did you pay taxes without any RTI submissions ???

Thanks Zimba. I paid the taxes based on the payslips. My accountant send the payslip by end of Jan and Feb 2015 and I paid the tax on that basis.

Paid taxes how ? That is not how it works mate. You need RTI submissions to declare PAYE taxes before you pay anything. The whole point of RTI is that the tax is collected shortly after it is declared. The only exception is that when you are eligible to report less often, for example quarterly.
Ask your accountant what is going on
