Coming to the Uk to join the Army

Hi all.my brother inlaw has just been invited by the british army to come for fitness test and assesment in the UK which will take about 4 months. He will be living with us through out the process.he is a student.He is in Cameroon which is a commonwealth country and his sister (my wife) will love to sponsor him as she has a good job earning £1800 pm after tax but she has no savings. also, we live in a 2 bedroom house with aour son.My question is:

-What visa will he need to apply for
-will my wife need to have a savings?
- will the eco accept the two bedroom house?


please i urgently need some help
