EU Treaty Rights: Changing Jobs / CSI Vs UK EHIC Card

Post by raja.brit » Sun Sep 25, 2016 2:24 pm

Dear Noajthan / Experienced Members,

I am sorry to bother you again.

Many thanks for your time and assistance in advance.

I (British) , finally obtained my mom's 5years Article 10 Residence Card (4EUFAM) in Irland and we have been living close to 1 year now.

I am currently employed and have got a new job offer.

I have not decided to take up the jobs offer just yet but if I do, there would be a gap for atleast a week swiching jobs. The following are my questions :

1. As one doesn't need a CSI while employed, do I need to a take a CSI for the 1 week gap while I am switching jobs?

2. Not sure if my UK EHIC card is still valid as I have moved to Ireland, if it is, would my UK EHIC card be suffice as opposed to obtaining a CSI just for the sake of 7 days that would cost me over €500?

3. Do I have to register as a job seeker for the duration of the gap to cover up my back?

Just wanted to ensure the gap doesn't affect my mother's residence rights.

I look forward to hearing your thoughts.

Thanks and Best regards,
Raja

Good question.

1) I sense that a week's gap will not trigger or show on the radar.

2) Should do.

3) If you have a job to go to you are not a 'jobseeker'.
