Query regarding English language requirement

Post by thewind » Tue Sep 27, 2016 9:06 am

Hello,

I got my ILR done in 2012 and proved the English language requirement using the point based calculator as my degree was in the list.

I am looking to apply for naturalisation now, and it seems like I cannot prove my English language requirement using my degree alone. Possible options for me are :
1. Get my degree certifitied by NARIC by sending them the flowing docs:
My degree certificate
A letter from my university stating that degree was taught in English ( which will be a tough one for me at this point)

2. Give a quick test for CEFR B1 at trinity college

I am planning to do option 2 for my naturalisation at its a less hassle for me.

My query is, since I used my degree to meet the English language requirement for my ILR and now I am using CEFR B1 test for my naturalisation, will this cause any problem?

I have a life in uk certificate also done during my ILR, is har still valid or do I need to take it again?

Kindly help.

Regards.

No problem using B1 English this time for BC. Also, there's no difference in cost between the test fee & NARIC ELA @ £150

The Life in the UK test has no expiry date.
