Hi all,
I have been searching all the change in job related posts within the forum, but cannot find one fits my case, therefore I am posting a new topic to ask for your wise advise.
- Thank you in advance for your time and help! Will be much appreciated!!
My Visa situation:
- I have studied in the UK for 6 years, and have been working for 2 years now, which means I can apply for the 10 year Long resident after 2 years.
- My current working visa gives me 3 years, and I need to renew it next year. One year after my visa extension, I should be able to apply for ILR.
My problem:
I am employed by an engineering firm as a graduate engineer. However, short after I join the company, I have been put under secondment for another analyst job (i.e. still in the same engineering company. but not engineer job).
The secondment was meant to be for an year --> I read in the other post, change of job under secondment does NOT need to apply for a new work permit, is it correct?
However, it is now over the agreed secondment period, but I am still working in my secondment job due to the busy workload.
My question:
1) Will this be a problem for me when I apply for my visa extension next year, that I have been doing the job which are not the title in my visa, but under secondment?
2) And because I am now over the formally agreed period of my secondment period, should I ask for a formal letter stating the extension of my secondment?
3) What are the options I have if I want to continue doing this analyst job within the same company but at the same time I don't want to risk my chance next year for visa extension.
- Do I have to reapply for a visa?
- If not, is there any documentation I need to get in order to prepare for next year's visa extension?
Thank you again for your help!
