ILR VISA still valid or not in my case?

Post by flyy » Sat Oct 01, 2016 7:56 pm

Hello,
Can someone help me please?

I was issued Indefinite Leave to Remain (NTL stamp on indian passport) visa in 2003 (family member of an EEA National).

But few years later i surrendered my indian passport, because i became EEA national.

So with the above in mind My question is;

Would the ILR Visa count as valid or not?

Thanks,

There is no ILR for FM of EEA.
Do you mean PR?

Where have you been since 2003?

There is no ILR for FM of EEA. ok i see.

But does that mean ILR issued to me back then is now invalid due to me becoming an EEA national?

What wording is on the vignette in your passport?

What nationality does your EEA family member hold?

Have you been exercising your Treaty rights as an EEA citizen through employment?

If you really do have ILR by some means then NTL guidance explains one reason for NTL is due to change of nationality.

https://www.gov.uk/government/publicati ... k-form-ntl

So change of nationality does not terminate ILR.

Ok, thanks for your input.

I do also have Letter from HomeOffice issued and stamped in 2003, which explicitly states in bold:

You can now remain indefinitely in the United Kingdom.
