Baby born in uk for tier 2 gen parents

Hi
Me and my husband are in uk on tier 2general visa.we had a baby born this month.we are due to apply ilr next year.please correct me if i am wrong,i dont have to apply for baby's visa as long as we dont go out of this country and once our ilr is approved we can register baby as british?
