confusion over visa status's

Post by mrswow » Tue Oct 04, 2016 1:20 pm

Hi there

Long story short my Fiance is American and i am Scottish we applied for our marriage visa on the 6th via the visa4uk service.

The tracking has always been the same telling us they received the paperwork on the 20th of June, as mentioned the tracking always said "processing"

Last night the status changed to "in active" (separate words) does anyone know what this means in terms of time frame left? does this mean a decision should be made fairly quick from this point or are they in the process of making the decision.

I feel slightly confused by it all so thank you in advance for any help. I am not that great at counting out the days when it comes to the decision in 12 weeks, i can never tell if they mean 120 days (which is including weekends) in total - or 84 working days (not including weekends) in total :/

The UKVI calculate processing times as working days...excluding Saturdays, Sundays and Bank holidays.

thank you for clarifying that point for me <3

any idea on what the "in active" status means? as opposed to before when it was just "processing"

I can't be sure, but according to another member's post this morning it appears to be in the final stages.
