Marriage age for spousal visa to uk

Post by Shuma99 » Tue Oct 04, 2016 7:58 pm

Hi all, hope you are all well.
I have a question which I hope you can answer. I am planning on marrying my long term girlfriend who is abroad in Bangladesh. I am planning on marrying her in July 2017. Which is 2 'months before her 18th birthday. I know that the age for the visa application is 18 years of age. But will there be any problems when I do apply because I married her when she was 17 yrs old? I will aapply for the spouse visa when she turns 18.
Any help would be highly appreciated
Thanks

You need to submit the marriage certificate to confirm you are legally married.

If you are legally able to marry before the age of 18 in the country where the marriage took place, then it will be of no relevance to the visa application if your wife was 17.
