Tier 2 extension query

Hi All,

I wondered if somebody could help me.

My current Tier 2 general visa comes to an end as of May 2017. I am currently employed under the SOC code 2139. In order for me to extend my visa, would i have to reach the experienced salary limit as stated in the SOC code?

Yes.
these levels are can change and salary requirements do go up.
Experienced salary req likely to go up to min of 25k in 2016 and 30k min in 2017 spring as per ukvi announcement.

Just one more query
my SOC code is currently in the shortage occupancy list (2139). In this case would i still need to meet the experienced worker threshold?

shortage occupation or not, experienced level must be met.
Also just because the SOC code is in shortage occupation, doesnt mean your actual job is in shortage occupation as well.. only a very few jobs are in shortage occupation within each SOC COde. Check yours.
