American Looking to Work in France

Post by jayonaboat » Tue Oct 11, 2016 7:04 pm

Hey everyone,

I'm an American who has taught English in France twice as an Assistant d'Anglais and am looking to move back. I have an English teaching company lined up with whom I can work, but they require that I'm able to invoice them with either auto-entrepreneur status or travailler independant, two statuses I just learned about, but I'm not sure how to go about getting either without a work visa (and of course, getting the visa without having work first makes this a catch 22).

Any advice on how I can go about getting work status would be greatly appreciated.

I already have housing in Paris. Would a short-stay work visa be the way to start?

Thanks in advance for your help!
