PR Application and Benefits

Dear Members and Moderators...

I am an EEA national , residing in UK for almost 7 years. I am thinking to apply for PR very soon but I would need some advice regarding my application and situation. Here is some details ...

2009 - 2010 (Student + Part time Work) Had Yellow Card.
2011 ( Applied for Blue Card and was Granted)
2011 - 2013 (Self Employed ) Paying NI contribution and Up to date Self Assessments through an accountant.
2013 - till Now (Part Time Work) 18 Hours (was looking after my child) , soon will start Full time as was my child is full time in school now.

I have been claiming Housing benefits as well as Tax , Child credit benefits.
Am I eligible to apply for PR as I have heard that HO is refusing application on the basis that income is less than the benefits you claim???

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Much appreciated your response , As far as I understand , minimum threshold set to minimum £150 a week.
But when I was self emp , I satisfied the minimum threshold criteria but since I was employed (2013) part time , I was never earned more than £130 a week.
Do u think that would be potentially a refusal ?
I will be starting full time soon , Do u advise to apply in few months time with better income to avoid the risk???

There are others on the forum better placed to advise and confirm. However, I believe that unless you have held Comprehensive Sickness Insurance (CSI) during your self-employment (as self-sufficient) while your weekly income has been less than the MET, your immigration clock may have stopped.

Stand by for other opinions.

Assuming you are fortunate and have CSI, you also need confirmation on whether receiving benefits will exclude you from claiming self-sufficiency.
