Employment status when leaving UK for tier 2 application

Post by jiahe434 » Wed Oct 19, 2016 9:35 pm

Hi all

I'm under Tier 5 Youth Mobility Visa working for an employer who wants to sponsor me via Tier 2 General route.

What's the deal with your employment status (with your current employer who is sponsoring you) during the Sponsorship process when you get your Certificate of Sponsorship and leave UK to get your Tier 2 application and biometrics done back in your home country?

Are you still considered "employed" by the same employer who is sponsoring you but you can't earn any taxable income while you are out of the UK until you arrive back and start work again at your sponsored job (that you have been already doing prior to leaving)? Would the current employment have any negative effect on the Tier 2 application process?

Many thanks in advance!
