I applied through one lawyer, for naturalisation. I got the citizenship award letter for me and my son, but in my letter, there was a mistake with place of birth. I was advised to anyway attend the citizenship ceremony - and me and my son attended it.
When I contacted my lawyer regarding this mistake, she said that it was not her business, requesting the rest of the money and refusing to give back the original documents (blackmail).
I contacted Home Office today as the situation regarding place of birth is unclear. I was advised to do the translation in the page of my passport (where it says place of birth, there is no English version of it). They told me that I have to do CN form and pay £198 for a mistake which I didn't do. In my award ceremony, I was told to return the original certificate along with the original documents proving place of birth, but Home Office said differently. As my lawyer is not supportive at all, please kindly help me.
Should I pay £198 for something I didn't do? I already paid over £5000 for this, including Home Office fees for two people. I work 7 days a week and this really upsets me. Please tell me - if it is CN form, then do I have to enclose the payment for something I shouldn't pay for?
Please help me as soon as possible.
