Permanent residence EEA national timeline

Post by axelin85 » Sun Oct 23, 2016 4:42 pm

Hi all,

just a breif summary on my situation.
I am an EEA national, I arrived in the UK on 17th march 2014 (I have the original flight ticket as proof), on 19th March 2014 got an official letter requesting an interview for NIno (this is my first proof of residence in the UK).
On 27th March 2014 I signed a contract of employment with my first employer, on 7th April 2014 I started to work in this job that lasted until 4th June 2014. I obtained a registration certificate in the meantime on 24th April 2014.
I was in beetween jobs from 4th June until 1st July 2014, when I started to work for the company I am employed currently, and hopefully this employment will continue for the coming years. :D
Barring any Brexit amnesty or new agreement etc... My question is: when I will become PR and be able to apply for my PR card?
Is it 17th March 2019 (so 5 years after my arrival) or 7th April 2019 (5 years after I started to work in the UK)?
Will the 3 weeks I spent in beetween jobs have any consequence in the count of the 5 years?
Thanks for your answer.

Regards.

Count from first day of work. 27 March if paid from then. Or else from 7 April.

3 weeks gap may be overlooked. Don't quote me.
