Visit Visa Not Received yet

Post by harshitguptaiitr » Mon Oct 24, 2016 9:25 am

Hello

My father-in-law applied for Visitor Visa on 7th Oct and the Visa hasn't arrived yet.

He applied twice in 2015 and in first case the Visa arrived in 8 working days and second time it arrived in 10 working days.

This time he applied 12 working days before his scheduled flight departure.

All documents are the same as in 2 success cases of 2015.

What are the options please?

I tried calling on 03001232241- but was on hold for over 5 minutes.

He has submitted an online email form this morning, but the published response time for email is 1 working day, which will be late.

Is there any benefit in going to Visa application centre?

Aren't you able to track his application online?

Did he pay for a priority service?

If not, the UKVI published processing time for standard service visitor visa applications (non priority) is currently 15 working days, but this isn't guaranteed.

I am not sure how to do that? Please can you help....
Did he pay for a priority service?
No. Because based on past experiences he believed that this should be Ok.

I believe you should be able to track it by logging into your VAC registration.

In hind sight it would have been prudent to pay for the priority service, or submit the application earlier.

He applied using visa4uk.fco.gov.uk - there is no option to track.

It's just a case of waiting then and changing his flight if necessary.

Processing times can change even from month to month, let alone from one year to the next.
