Applying for dependent visa for child over 18 but below 21

Post by markinetarim » Tue Oct 25, 2016 10:20 am

Hi everyone,

I am in a a bit of a tight spot. I recently got a job in England (on tier 2 long term ICT point based system) and I am planning on relocating my family here who currently live in Kenya. One of my daughters is 19 years and fully dependent on me as she has just finished high school hence I am not able to apply for her visa as a child. Is there any option of putting up a case to have her come over as a dependent? or what options or immigration route or visa types can I use to ensure she relocates with the rest of the family? This is really giving me alot of stress as I did not know about the 18 years limit.

I hope someone can advice soonest.

Regards,
Mark

Age 18 is the cutoff for a dependant visa. She will need a visa in her own right if you want her to join you all on your temporary stay in the UK.

Has she thought about going to university in the UK? That would be a Tier 4 visa. She would need to find a university to sponsor her as an international student.

Like your Tier 2 ICT visa, the Tier 4 visa doesn't lead to settlement either.
