ILR (tier-1)letter received seeking additional time

Hello,

I have received letter from UKVI on 12Oct 2016 saying that they are waiting for reply from a government department (may be HMRC) regarding my ILR application and would take more time to consider my application.
Did anyone receive same type of letter and does anyone know how long would it take for them to make decision?

My timeline:

Tier-1 General 2+3
Employed+Self-employed from 2011 to till date. All taxes paid and amended tax return for 2011 due to minor errors in expenses calculation (£700 ). Still my earnings in that 12 months was more than £35k.

Postal application sent: 13/May/16
Biometrics completed: 01/June/16
Letter received explaining delay: 12/Oct/2016
