Question About Tier 2 Extension.

I have a questions about tier 2 extension process.

Q1 : How many days or months in advance I can apply for extension?

Q2 : Any specific requirement for employee bank statement?

Q3 : For example maintenance of funds in bank account?

Javedsheikh, I'll re-use your topic to ask few more questions from user on Tier 2 general extension.
It might be useful for someone else.

1. When I submit application with documents - will they collect my current BRP too?

2. Technical question: in case of extension - HO gives me new BRP, but do they stamp new 30 days visa in a passport or smth similar (as in case of applying from abroad).

3. I've listed major steps of application process below (hopefully correctly).
- When is the latest point I can still work for my current employer? ( step 5? )
- When is the earliest point I can start working for my new employer? ( step 5? date mentioned in CoS? )

1. Submitted Application
2. Application (documents) received at HO (+1-2 days)
3. Acknowledgement Letter Issue date (+1 week)
4. Application approved(?) (+ 2 weeks - 2 month)
5. Returned passport & new BRP (+1-2 days)

this is where the confusion is, as these are 2 different areas.. immigration laws and employment law. U may have your notice period etc.. however as per immigration law the following will apply.
start date of new visa : you can work for new employer and cant work for current one.
