Spousal Visa Employment - Self employed/full time employment

Post by rog3731a » Tue Nov 01, 2016 9:41 am

Hi all,

My wife (Australian) is currently here in the UK on a Spousal visa in which she met the financial requirements previously through her full time employment. We are preparing ourselves for the application of the second part (2.5years) of her visa which is due July 2017 and are confused about what employment to submit as she is now self employed.

If we follow the rules (as far as I can understand) for self employment then that means that she has to submit her last full tax year - 2015-2016, which she does not have as she was confirmed as self employed 1 month ago. Leaving her without a full tax year to submit.

I myself (her sponsor) am also self employed and during the 14-15 tax year did not meet the £18,200 thresh hold.

During 2015-2016 she was in full time employment and will hit the financial requirements with ease. However I am worried that because she is now registered as self employed she cant submit as self employed, nor as in full time employment!?

Please help!

All the best,

Aaron

you need an accountant to make u 'projected accounts'. They will show how much your earnings have been, and what you are expected to make in a year.
You can also combined your earnings. Its the combined 18600 u need for extension as well.
