Right of appeal

I have reently herd that there is no right of appeal for unmarried partners anymore when applying for a RC. Just wondering if this is still the case if you have already been issued a RC as a unmarried partner and applying for PR.

Would you still get the chance to appeal for PR because you have already met the criteria of being a family member already
