Tier II ICT Long Term Staff Partner to Tier 2 General

Hi,
I am in UK employed under Tier II ICT Staff dependent Visa. I landed in UK on 20thJuly 2016.
However, my employer has decided to sponsor me.
My skill falls in shortage occupation list . The code is 2136.

Does my sponsor need to raise a normal COS or something different need to be done?

Secondly, I already have a NI number. However, while applying for the VISA, it gives me the NI number will be printed on the back of the BRP.
Could you please guide me on the same?

And also my University is listed in NARIC. So do I need to get a letter from NARIC?

I want to know:
1. If it is possible for my wife to get a Tier 2 general visa? Does she need to go outside UK? Is there a cooling off period?
2. If it is possible for me to switch to a Tier 2 general visa? Can I apply from within UK? Is there a cooling off period?
3. If my wife is able to get a Tier 2 General visa, for me to get a dependent visa, do I need to cancel my current visa or does that happen automatically when I get a new one??
4. Is it better for both of us to apply together or should I apply after she gets hers?

Yes, you can apply for your wife's T2 general. And she has to go outside UK. No cooling off period is applicable for her.

t2 ICT to T2General, there is a cooling off period of 12 months.

That will be cancelled automatically. You just need to inform your employer.
4. Is it better for both of us to apply together or should I apply after she gets hers?
Not experienced. Still my T2G is in progress.
