mother-in-law family visit visa refusal

Post by dhruv4500 » Sat Nov 05, 2016 2:33 pm

Hi All,
I have applied visit visa for my mother-in-law for spending holidays with us during Christmas. However it got rejected with below reason.During application filling we have two columns how much you are willing to spend on your visit and how much your sponcer will be spending on you, I think i did a mistake here suggesting them to keep 3000 £ and 5000 £ for these two fields. How can i correct my mistake and reapply?

Any suggestion are really really appreciated

"On your visa application form you state that you are unemployed with no income stated. You state that the cost to you personally of your trip is 3000£, you state that the total amount you spent each month is 50£. You have submitted a copy of STATE BANK OF INDIA account showing a balance of INR 118444 (1437 £) as at 13-10-2016, therefore the balance is less than you state that you have available.

Refusal reason:

There for i am not satisfied that your purpose in the UK is as you have stated and on the balance of probabilities I am not satisfied that you intend to leave the UK at the end of your visit as stated by you - and do not intend to live for extended periods in united kingdom through frequent or successive visits or that you genuinely seeking entry as a visitor for a period not exceeding 6 months. Furthermore I am not satisfied you will have sufficient funds to cover all reasonable costs in relation to your visit without working or accessing public funds V4.2 (a-e)

Future Applications:

Any future UK visa applications you make will be considered on their individual merits, however you are likely to be refused unless the circumstances of your application change."

You have to keep it real.

And you have to persuade caseworker that MIL is going to return home. Don't try to dazzle her with £'000s that don't exist.
Proof of reasons to go home are paramount.

Hi Noajthan

Many thanks for your reply.

I was bit confused by seeing the two points and we never intended to bluff. I thought by showing the proof for money in my accounts will be sufficient(since I submitted a cover letter that i will be sponsoring for her entire visit and responsible for providing accommodation).

Is there any chance if i make a new application with more reasonable numbers and supporting documents. How should i quote the reason for current rejection?. can i state that it was a mistake?

Kindly share your views.Thanks

How will you address this point?

Also, what is the MIL's previous visit history and how long has she applied to stay?

Hi Simon,

Thanks for your response.

1) I have attached a no objection letter from my father-in-law that indicates that her family is in India.
2) She also submitted bank transaction of her account.

She applied visa for 6 months and she never visited UK before.

Thanks
Dhruv
