Philippines To UK Visa

Post by mattymx3 » Mon Jun 06, 2016 11:24 pm

Hi
My Philippine girlfriend will be coming here after she graduates university in march next year. The plan is for her to come here, work and start our future together while initially living with my parents while we save for a house. What is the best way to go about this in terms of visa's and finding work ? Any and all information will be greatly appreciated.

Thankyou

If the lady is not coming on a work (T2) or study visa (T4) then you will have to get married up front. Or she will have to come on a fiancee visa and you need to marry in UK within 6 months.
There's no bf/gf type visa.

Note the financial and other requirements that have to be met.

Wrong part of the forum mate.

Basically given what you've said she'll need either;

1. Student visa: Mega expensive, think 10k a year.

2. Work permit: Needs to be employable and highly skilled. Clue: A freshly released student with no real work experience means no chance really.

Your only option is marriage, and for that you need to have earned £18,600 pa over the last 6 months.

Would the fact she will graduate with a bachelors degree in psychology not make her more appealing to potential employers ?

It's not going to be easy. And I'm a fan of Philippines people and culture.

T2 visa holders are in competition with the rest of Asia, subcontinents and the world. A Masters would help.

Are you mobile?
The Surinder Singh option via Europe is another possible pathway (that is unless Brexit referendum result kicks it out to touch).
Again marriage will still help.

Fiance Visa

Post by mattymx3 » Mon Nov 07, 2016 6:55 pm

Hi
Me who is a British Citizen and my girlfriend who is Filipino, have been in a long distance relationship for 4 years. We are wanting to start our lives together here in UK via the fiance visa route after she graduates University in April 2017, only we have a few questions that we are unsure of.

1. Can anyone give us a step by step guide as to how to apply or the fiance visa, as we found the UK government website very vague and contradictory.

2.We are aware that she will need to have a TB test and English test before she can apply for the visa. We are wondering if this can all be done within a week as she has to travel to Manilla for the tests, and needs time off from her studies?

3. Do you have to apply online as well as in person at the visa application centre in manila well as in person with a hard copy of the completed application?

Any help would be greatly appreciated
Matt & Nikka
