Hi,
This is my first post here and I'm hoping someone can give me some reassurance about an issue that has cropped up.
I'm in the process of preparing the paperwork/application for my fiance to come here from Kazakhstan. We've met a couple of times now, me travelling to Kazakhstan in July 2016 and her visiting me here last month. I've come across the question below on the online application and have a major concern:
Have you ever worked for any organisation (state or non-state) listed below?
Armed Forces (including National Service)
Government (Central or Local)
Judiciary
Media
Public or Civil Administration
Security (including police and private security companies)?
The truth is that she is chief accountant for a security firm so our plan of course is to answer yes to this. The problem is that when she applied for her visitor visa a couple of months ago she used an agency in Kazakhstan. I found out that they gave the name of her company minus the word "security" and answered "No" to this question. She was granted the visa of course.
I have no idea what the purpose of this question is or what further checks are done. My concern is that in answering yes to this question will immigration check the form against the previous visitor visa application and pick up the discrepancy. Or, if we were to provide the same answers as the agency did and immigration make further checks they could discover the discrepancy and reject the application. Either way, we're seen to be deceptive.
I feel like we're in a catch 22 as there is risk of rejection whichever way we go. I'm so angry towards the agency for this as now it's our future which hangs on this because of them!!
Any help or advice would be really appreciated.
