Naturalisation application pending

Post by sammie007 » Mon Nov 07, 2016 11:07 pm

Hi,

I have applied for naturalisation via the Tier 1 and ILR route.

I did my application on 20th July 2016. I did my biometric on 26th August. I am still waiting on the status of my application. I have been trying to call the UKBA call centre but they say that I need to wait for 6 months before contacting them!

So its been more then 2 months since my biometric. Should it be taking so long for them to process my application? I am worried that they might have send me some communication which might have got lost in the post ( they had to resend my bio-metric request letter as I never received the initial copy).

I am getting a little tensed as I have no clue as to what is happening??? Can you please guide me.

Thanks,
Sam

As long as it hasn't been over 6 months there is no reason to be nervous, it's not unusual to take 6 months (and some people have even been waiting for 12 months+). Just because some people get their approval a lot quicker doesn't mean there is anything wrong with your application...just kick back and relax, patience is essential when dealing with the HO :D

LilyLalilu is right, they give 6 months minimum time. Some people here have been waiting for over a year, so no reason to worry just yet.

You are not dealing with UKBA (abolished in 2013).

Expect no feedback or handholding from HO.
Even if you contact HO (after 6 months) you won't receive much useful information.

This is all normal.
Just a waiting game now.
