EEA Family Permit (the one for entry)

Post by hannes7 » Tue Nov 08, 2016 10:16 pm

Dear all,

A couple of questions swirling in my head creating a jambalaya.
My wife (non-EU) and me (EU) want to apply for the EEA Family Permit to entry the UK.

We are trying to manage the online application-form right now.
In this application form a lot of questions which doesn't seem to have a relation to the EEA Family Permit itself. For example, it is necessary to list all countries my wife has visited in the last 10 years or the passport-number of her last expired passport

Is it normal that for information like this is asked?

A more important question for me is, which documents must be handed in?
I read about to send in the original passports (my wifes and mine), the marriage certificate and the residence card (of the country we are currently living). That's OK I think.
But, I read also that it is necessary to hand in passport-sized photos, salary slips, marriage pictures ... :?:
Is this really necessary?

I mean, when I compare with the "head trough wall"-method, at the boarder it is ok to show the marriage certificate and the passports of us. Why is there such a difference between the online application in advance and the admission at the boarder?

May I ask you experts one last question, please:
Are there pros and/or cons between the EEA Family Permit-sticker (which my wife can get in advance using the online application) and the "EEA Dependant"-stamp my wife would get at the boarder?

Thanks,
Hannes
