Is there a way through t1-t2 as a good IT contractor?

Post by lieto » Wed Nov 09, 2016 8:43 pm

Greetings ladies and sirs,

I know this was probably discussed, although i didn't find any recent discussions.
Is there any way through the visa system as an IT contractor?
I can probably get myself contracts around 600-800 gbp / pd, but i can't seem to find a way to stay in the country unless a work for 20% of that on company who sponsors me tier2.

1. Is there a way to be self-employed on tier 1 entrepreneur visa?
2. Is it really illegal if a company of my friend employ me on tier 2 and then send me to work on site for another company? That's called outsourcing, right?
3. Any other ways?

Usually No, it is not allowed under Tier 1E rules.
IT contracting in almost majority of cases is working in capacity of an employee for another company which is not allowed under Tier 1E.

It seems you are not a genuine entrepreneur
1. Is there a way to be self-employed on tier 1 entrepreneur visa?
Yes, but self-employment does not mean working in capacity of an employee. If you are a director or self employed, your actual employment status is still determined by the type of contract/work you do. More info here: https://www.gov.uk/government/collectio ... f-employed
2. Is it really illegal if a company of my friend employ me on tier 2 and then send me to work on site for another company? That's called outsourcing, right?
If you secure a Tier 2 visa from a sponsor, you are allowed to work only for that sponsor.
3. Any other ways?
If you wish to work as an employee, seek an employer who can sponsor you on Tier 2 General visa
