Tier 2 (General ) Extension

Post by ahuss138 » Thu Nov 10, 2016 1:03 pm

Hey,
I want to apply for my tier 2 extenison visa along with my wife.
I have got one question which i need to clarify

I am currently working as an engineer in NHS and my SOC code is 2219.
I have got this code (2219) in 2013 when i have applied for Tier 2.

My Sponsor is willing to apply on same code (2219)

I just want to confirm about the salary threshold for experience worker
On SOC website there is no salary mention for experienced worker on code 2219
It's only mention annual salary for band 5 and Equivlant.
Can someone please guide me?

Kind Reagrds,
Atif

we have seen couple of refusals on this forum where people have been granted 3 year visa on same code and HO refuse the visa while applying extension using same code. This has become very common in some cases

If you are working as an engineer and your job title is engineering related then you should have opted different SOC code at first. I am not sure what will be your experienced rate as an engineer for this SOC code.

At the minute the minimum current rate for any engineer for all SOC type is around 30K or above where as there is no experienced rate for 2219 code as this is only for Health Professionals and your job is engineering related

Many Thanks for your replay

My job title is clinical engineer and my HR put me on this code back in 2013
SOC code 2219 mean is: Healthcare Professional not else where classified
So i am still confuse about experience threshold salary as it does not say anything on the website.

Absolute wrong advise above.
ALL cases of tier 2 extension are based on same soc code being used.
If the same soc code is not being used, then rlmt is needed and change of employment cos if filled.
The SOC code in question is mostly used by nhs, and as long as you are paid as per rate of band which your job is from, you should be fine.
However note the experienced rate salary goes up to 25k on 23 nov ,and 30k next april (not announced yet).
