Child's Delayed First Passport

Post by Geehan » Thu Nov 10, 2016 7:11 pm

Hello everyone, my husband acquired his indefinite leave to remain in the country Sept 2015, we had our son May 2016 but he didn't get the card until August 2016. Findings made us realise that we can apply for his passport directly without going through the MN1 route. Its been 6 weeks now but we have not heard anything from the Home office.

Also, the person who countersigned office was contacted instead of his home, so the office returned the form and the counter signer has not been contacted since.
Does anyone know why the passport is being delayed? Could anything have gone wrong with the previous information? What can we do to fasten the process. Thanks in advance.

I believe you can contact your local MP, who might be able to help.

Its not necessarily stuck.

It could take 8 - 12 weeks or more. Clearly its in progress.

There is no go-faster button.
Suggest sit tight and wait.
