UK Spouse Visa - Accommodation Question

Post by JohnFerrow » Fri Nov 11, 2016 10:02 am

HI All,

I am currently finishing all my documentation for my spouse Visa.

I have already collected all the required documents apart from the accommodation which I need some help with.

I currently live with my Aunt in a council house she holds the tenancy but I am also legal occupant as the Council is aware of it.
The house was previously a one bed room but I have converted the living room into a bedroom where I live since my Aunt had heart attack a year ago.

My question is will I be able to apply spouse visa using this accommodation?

Thanks
John

You will need written permission from the Council as the landlords, giving permission for your wife to live in the property. They should be able to also assess whether the accommodation is adequate or considered overcrowded with 3 occupants. It depends on the total floor space in the living areas.
