Travel arranged before attending citizenship ceremony

Post by holaiker » Fri Nov 11, 2016 12:59 pm

Hi all

I have just received the approval letter and the citizenship invite. the date of ceremony is booked on 29-November, which i am ok with.

But i have booked a trip to Iceland next week, is it still ok for me to travel on my existing passport and ILR card?

You are not British yet, not until the ceremony - although since receiving your approval you may have noticed a slight stiffening of upper lip, and more of a tendency to stand in line at supermarket and bustops.

Anyway yes, you may enjoy one last hurrah on your soon to be redundant (and dismembered) ILR BRP.
